Program & Goals

Interactive Programs Designed for Financial Literacy

The primary aim of The Empowerment Project NFP is to help solve Racial Inequality through building knowledge of financial literacy. To reach this goal, we have created a comprehensive program designed to offer a lasting solution to racial inequality & financial literacy in these environs.

Our Financial Literacy Program is designed to provide comprehensive and thorough financial knowledge to the under served communities in the Chicago area and its environs. Designed with maximum reach in mind, we have crafted this program to cut across all ages and groups, including entrepreneurs, returning citizens, college students, or at-risk youth.

For us, financial literacy is the key to fighting racial inequality. Thus, we have designed our Financial Literacy Program to educate individuals from the fundamental areas to the most complex money management principles.

In a 10-12-week program, participants will cover topics like:

  • Financial Plan
  • Money Management
  • Understanding Credit & Investments
  • Managing Income
  • Achieve Financial Goals
  • Protecting Assets
  • Preparing for Retirement

Thanks to our thorough curriculum, we are sure of maximum efficiency, thus creating a better living experience for under served communities in and around Chicago. For starters, we’re looking to train up to 100 individuals – approximately 20-25 in each age group over a year.

Ideally, the learner's life circumstances need to be considered to understand the approach to teaching financial literacy fully.

Thus, each participant will undergo an assessment to allow us to measure their current knowledge. After the course, a post-assessment will be conducted to quantify what the participants learned during the course.

To ensure efficiency, we partner with stakeholders like local schools, banks, credit unions, resources providers (Financial Peace University by Dave Ramsey and Suze Orman), and other local non-profit organizations with the same target markets.
